Lie to Me | Season 1, Episode 5

Increase in using manipulators

Could be a sign of anxiety

Response latency

Time between when a question is asked, and when an answer is given.

(quick response for a spontaneous lie vs if a lie is prepared ahead of time, they rush, eager to get it over with)

Anger

Nostrils flared, lips tightened

Remorse

Cheeks raised, lip corners depressed

Self-hushing emblem

Shh fingers over mouth

Disgust

Brow lowered, upper eye lid raised. That glare is the mark of a hostile personality

Deception

Saying yes while shaking head or saying no while nodding head, etc. They’re not believing their own words. They don’t mean what they say

Disgust

People always think anger is the most dangerous emotion. But disgust is the language of hatred

When lying

They hunch over, trying to make their body take up as little space as possible

Procerus muscle

Might not always show emotion (consider effects like botox or other alterations/conditions etc)
