In basic terms: this is a signal that you were coerced
Vi coactus | Latin for “under duress.” Having been compelled by force.
Assuming you’re dealing with opposing parties that can reason with each other instead of fight emotionally, you’d think this would work in a legal argument.
I would imagine I’d only use this in the context of dealing with the public mafia. If I was in a situation where I am being threatened…like, a cop pulled me over for nothing and asks me to sign ANY type of ticket or documentation…
Then my argument for using it would be that no matter WHAT the city servant was claiming to cite me for, it would be invalid since they were armed, and that alone skews the “power dynamic.” But because cops have weapons on them at all times, then one is always under threat of violence, and hence can not agree under sound mind to any citations and solicitations that government tries to enforce. We can’t possibly be acting by free will while being under constant armed (and “unlawful”) surveillance.
